Canoeing Killin

The last time a did canuing was when I was ten. Somewhere in Switzerland on a lake. So I was super mega excited to do it again. This time in the beautiful nature of Scotland. To get to Killin, we had to drive about one and a half hours. Which was super exciting too because we were surrounded by beautiful nature all the time. We took the dogs with us, Gaia and Sascha (I love dogs!). And they are very well-educated. So we decided to take them with us on the Canu. We did a catamaran canoe which means that we connect two canoes together. That’s the way you can make sure that there is no chance that the canoe turns around and you fall into the water, haha. But anyway we had a super lovely time. And again: The view was amazing. I’m so so happy and thankful for this experience. We came past an island where Sascha and Gaia jumped off and run along the water. Then they came back into the water and swam around the canoe. They are so cute. But they got cold and turned back on the island. We canoed around on the other side and got off. Boris, the pro in making fires, made a big and warming fire. So we set there, ate our sandwiches and talked a little. Ilja and I enjoyed to hold our feet to the fire but after a few seconds it got really, really hot but we didn’t want to burn our wellies, haha. Ilja and Luca started practicing polocrosse. So enjoyed watching them too. After two hours we canoed back to the place where we put the canoes into the river and parked the car. We had typical April weather. Most of the time I was a lucky child, and the sun was out. Sometimes the sun disappeared after clouds but came soon again. But on the way back it started to rain for about five minutes. The way all the little raindrops landed in the water looked so beautiful when you are surrounded by it from all the sides. And it was so, so amazing to see how the water changed its color on the matter of light shining on it.<3
