Auchterarder, the Town of my First Times

Ochil Tower, that’s where I spent a lot of time in my childhood…

Hi, my wonderful readers! Hope you had a good day so far! The reason why I call the lovely little town on the bottom of the Scottish highlands “the town of my first times” is because so many things I’ve done and experienced here the first time. But more about that below. I stayed in Auchterarder for two weeks. One week I even went to school, haha. But more about that later, in another post, too. And again I was super lucky with the sun. It was shining almost all day. Which is pretty unusual for Scottland. So I always had a perfect view on everything and especially on the highlands. I know you can’t see this on the pictures above but as I’ve once told you before the most beautiful moments I don’t capture in pictures because I take the time and capture them in my heart. That’s why you get to see the rainy pictures… But as you might have seen in my previous post about St. Andrews (here) there are some pictures from the sunny days. And somehow I literally brought the sun with me, haha. Because as soon as I was at the airport I got texted that it started raining cats and dogs in Scotland. The reason I went to Auchterarder was to visit some friends who live there. I know them since ever because she is the best friend of my mother. It was really practical that a flew on the day where the time got changed. So I didn’t lose an hour of my life, haha. As you have seen in the post before from St. Andrews and Killin (here) we’ve done a lot in these two weeks. I also started watching this hilarious British comedy series called “Bad Education”. Somehow I start watching new series every time I go somewhere, haha. But then I never continue watching them. Once we went shopping in Perth, a town very close to Auchterarder with a lot of cool and cute shops and a typical old city. On an evening we went to the bowling club where a fundraising event took place. Tow young man, I guess they were my age, raised money for going to Tanzania and build houses there. I thank that’s amazing and I have a high respect for that. Hopefully, I will do this once too, ASAP! But we didn’t bowl in the bowling club, we did Scottish dancing. Honestly, I’m not a good dancer at all and I’ve never done Scottish dancing before but it’s so easy to hook up and it was soooo much fun. Seriously!!! At one of my last days, we went to Gleneagles. That’s a very famous and expensive hotel. They had the best coffee I ever had.<3 And of course, we’ve done much more fun things. But I’ve listed them all below.;-) Through the friends, I stayed at I was again able to meet amazing people. And if got a new best friend: Winny the cat, haha. I’ve been in Auchterarder at their place many times before but now it has been the first time I really “saw” something of this town and of Scottland. Because of all the times, about four or five times, we, me and my mother,  came here I was a little child. The last time I’ve been here I was about five or six years old. That’s why I’ve experienced so many things here and I’m able to call this town “the town of my first times”, haha. Here are some things I’ve done, ate, saw or experienced the first time:

  • eating an egg with cheese
  • eating macaroni
  • eating potatoes with beans and cheese
  • eating carrot soup
  • eating parmesan risotto with broccoli and blue cheese
  • eating Shepard’s pie
  • eating a cheese scone
  • eating lemon chicken
  • watching the lion king (1/4 of it…)
  • wearing a uniform
  • going to school in another speaking country
  • playing set (card game)
  • beeing on a wedding
  • Scottish dancing
  • beeing on a baptism that wasn’t mine
  • seeing a pheasant
  • doing archrey
  • watching polocrosse

Probably there are much more but I forgot about that. Talk to you soon, kisses and hugs!<3

It’s a very little place and to live there for years might actually be a little boring. But it was really nice to visit and it looks so different from home. It just looked so schottisch, haha.
